Okay, so Larry Page is supposedly the second richest dude on the planet now, huh? After Elon Musk, of course, who’s probably planning his next Mars colony funded by dogecoin or something. Give me a break. This whole billionaire worship thing is getting seriously old.

Shares of Alphabet—that's Google's parent company for those of you who still live under a rock—are up, supposedly because Meta (aka Facebook, aka the company that’s actively destroying democracy) might use Google's AI chips. So, because Zuck might throw some money Google's way in 2027, Page's net worth magically jumps by billions? Does anyone else see the problem here?

The Forbes Real Time Billionaires List says Page's worth is $267.5 billion. Let's be real: these numbers are pure fantasy. It's all tied up in Alphabet stock price today, which is just a bunch of digits on a screen. It's not like he's got Scrooge McDuck swimming pools full of gold coins.

The Illusion of Wealth

And get this: apparently, Page's wealth went from $50.9 billion in 2020 to almost $270 billion now. That's insane. It's like printing money, except instead of the government doing it, it's the stock market rewarding some dude who hasn't done anything groundbreaking in years. I saw another article saying Google is teaming up with Accel to launch Atoms AI Cohort 2026 to boost AI startups. Awesome, more AI. Just what we need. More algorithms to steal our jobs and track our every move.

The Real World

While Larry Page is busy climbing the billionaire ladder, let's not forget about the real world. The world where people are struggling to pay their bills, where climate change is wreaking havoc, and where democracy is under attack. But hey, at least one guy is getting richer, right?
